there's this maths and science competition at yjc and was forced asked by tcw to go. met lj jw aaron at yishun mrt, then to macs for breakfast. had to wake up at 6.30am. zzz. met bernice on the way to macs. nice. while eating, jw was BB-ing away as usual. he'll die if he doesn't say that word.

took 812 there. 2 bus left as we walked to the interchange. zzz. we almost miss our stop. the school is old. registered and took photo. saw yongshan, justina, wanzhen and many more ex-phs seniors. cool. our guide also ex-phs students bought us all drinks. i don't know where they get the money from. took the written quiz in the hall. their hall is smaller than others. throughout the quiz, there's this indian temple nearby and they are playing all this weird music. it's really a bad place for exams.

see some exhibits after that, which was kinda boring. see a chemistry magic show which was cool. but the emcee is super weird. all jc's staircase are super weird. not continuous like our school's. totally all around the place.

made it to the final round, like surprisingly. the auditorium was super cold. was shivering throughout the whole thing. we are the only team that talk so much nonsense until the audience started laughing as they can here what we are saying as the mic was on. so crappy. all this while, tcw was busy reading his newspaper while we are busy doing this quiz.

the last part of the final round was so much different from the vjc one. there's hands-on work, like using the microscope for biology which we totally didn't know how to use and anyhow wrote crap. chemistry was much easier, mixing around chemicals to identify them. luckily we remembered what thh taught us. maths was super crap. first time see such questions. had to use the numbers 0, 2, 6, 7 and form an equation for the numbers given ad each number can only be used once. basically used the same equation for everything and just switching the numbers around. interesting. physics was totally sucky. had to set up an electrical circuit to find the identity of the given things. the wires was totally different from the school's one and the ammeter is digital, not the normal one. totally sucky. i thought it's used to show the graph for the ac current. zzz.

realised how come we got a chance to the final round as about half of the people are from sec3. they even tested things that we never learn in the written quiz. the maths part was super difficult.

the results was totally unexpected as we did badly for the microscope and the circuit thing. got first. so unexpected. we only thought of second. before they announced the results, we were thinking about all the things that tcw might not do. luckily tcw clapped for us, or we will use our trophy and hit him as he was the only person reading newspaper throughout the whole thing. like so bad. got a giraffe soft toy too. cute. tcw did what we thought he wouldn't do, like treating us lunch. it's totally last minute, so had to keep my lunch at home for dinner. he made us write our speech for monday and wouldn't do it for us. he say, 'we can practice for our oral as our olevel english oral is coming.' zzz. what a lame excuse.

tcw treat us lunch at swensen's. nice. found out some interesting things about tcw and talked a lot of random crap. how nice. saw an ex-phs student working there.

wonder how did the POP go.

there's still lots of work to be done. lots of studying to be done.

this year is becoming more and more meaningful for me. the only year in four years that i got so many opportunities.
